Si Brayshaw
Director of Payments
"We wanted to ensure we found the right partner for the long term. Modulr stood out, based on the other successful tech and fintech companies they were already partnering with. This was a big seal of approval for us at Motorway."
Why Modulr

Regulatory compliance, risk management and governance

Our regulatory permissions, approach to risk management and governance structure underpin our business.

We are licensed as an electronic money institution (EMI) in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and in the Netherlands by De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). We have passported our Dutch permissions across the EEA and have established branches in Ireland, Spain and France to deliver localised services in these countries.

The Board of Directors for each of our regulated entities is accountable for setting risk appetite, delegating oversight of risk management to each regulated entity's Audit and Risk Committee, leveraging a three lines of defence model.

Our Executive Leadership Team is responsible for the execution of our business strategy whilst at all times upholding a culture focused on risk and compliance. This is underpinned by a rigorous governance structure, embedded within our business operations and overseen by our Executive Leadership Team.
