From complexity to simplicity: How Talk Staff enhanced their end-to-end service with Modulr

Many of Talk Staff’s clients used to rely on traditional banking methods for payroll processing which included manual payment entries. This was time-consuming and prone to errors, especially for clients managing large volumes of transactions, “The Time saved is the standout benefit for our clients. Many companies still rely on a manual process, we recently spoke to a company tackling 150 payments a month manually, that’s a lot of admin”.

Talk Staff manages several clients in the hospitality sector, where payroll becomes further complicated as employees are receiving tips, in addition to salary. “You have to have a TRONC master, someone who oversees the process of ensuring tips make it to employees and is properly reporting to HMRC. This means running 2 separate payrolls in situations where TRONC schemes exist, for example in the hospitality sector." Thanks to Modulr’s batch upload feature and swift approvals process, Talk Staff people consultancy have taken away this time-consuming and error-prone task from their clients, allowing them to focus on growing their businesses.

In addition to saving time through automating payments, the speed of payments has been a win for Talk Staff and their clients. They can make same-day payments. I also use Modulr for our supplier payments. Managing temporary recruitment at Talk Staff often requires quick payments and this makes the process significantly easier without needing to use CHAPS."

Data entry or data checking, particularly with numerical data is notoriously prone to error. With the correct information uploaded to Modulr directly via file upload, copying and re-entry of data is a thing of the past. Clients simply log in, approve transactions, and ensure timely payments without complications. This reduces the possibility of error, “with Modulr, our clients log in, press accept and that's it.”

Enhanced service offering

The introduction of Modulr has allowed Talk Staff to enhance their service offerings. They have transitioned from outsourcing some services to offering more comprehensive managed services, “We’ve grown to offer more managed services, and Modulr has enabled us to build on our offering”. This evolution has become a unique selling point, attracting new clients and strengthening their market position, “We have seen people engage with us more through running our payroll service with Modulr. It's been great seeing our clients send great feedback as a result”.
